Connecting past and present, Mékr Studio co-founders Kristiina Reeve and Michelle Evans were guided by their clients’ appreciation for local craftsmanship and quality materials. The result is an artful, sophisticated home where statement pieces reside harmoniously within the daily rhythms of a busy family of four. A feeling of sanctuary extends to the home’s alfresco zones, where paved outdoor rooms and sun-dappled greenery mirror the interior’s soothing sensibility and modern whimsy.
A neutral palette consists of warm tones, serene off-whites and muted teals, with hand-scraped veneers and European oak floors offering textural interest. Terrazzo stone and mosaics enrich the bathrooms, while ornate mouldings, trims and dados adorn the living spaces. Unique, locally crafted pieces are paired with tumbled brass hardware, and streamlined fixtures complement elaborate hearths.
